At 98mm tall, the X8 Pro Omni is genuinely slim — slim enough to slide under most sofas and kickboards that taller flagships bounce off. The 353mm round body is standard, and the matte-black finish with a gold Y-shaped button looks more expensive than it is. The dock is a tall tower with two clear tanks (clean and dirty water) and a 220ml onboard bin that empties into a sealed bag inside the station.

The one design compromise is that 220ml dust bin — small for a flagship. In day-to-day use it does not matter much, because the robot empties itself at the dock after every run. But if you skip the auto-empty for a few cycles, it fills fast. The dock bag is rated for up to 150 days hands-free, which is the more relevant number for most people.

This is where the X8 Pro Omni quietly excels. It uses embedded LiDAR plus AIVI 3D 3.0 cameras, and Vacuum Wars scored its navigation 4.59/5 — the second-highest navigation efficiency they recorded. It maps a multi-room home quickly, drives in tidy straight lines, and recharges-and-resumes without losing its place. Vacuum Wars measured 200 minutes in their low-power test and gave battery a near-perfect 4.84/5. For a large home, it will finish in one go rather than tapping out mid-job.

Noise is low for this class. Owners describe it as "honestly very quiet" in standard mode, and only the dock's auto-empty cycle — a brief, loud burst — is something you would not want to trigger at 2am. You can schedule that for daytime in the app.

App & Smart Features

Ecovacs' software is a real selling point. The YIKO voice assistant (now YIKO-GPT) handles loose, natural commands — you can tell it "there's a spill in the kitchen" and it decides whether to vacuum or mop.
